Is it over yet??

As you read this book you dont't get the full view of what Callie's problem really is. You wonder is it her brothers sickness, her mothers' abandoning ways, or her work-hard father. The ending of this book is not what i thought it would have been, because it leaves off a whole other story as if there would be a sequel book to it. After finishing the book my opinion on cutting yourself is the same as it was if not stronger and that opinion is that it is a joke. I would recommend this book to just about everyone, on any age level, because of the common knowledge that cutting yourself is really happening. A sad topic is what it is, if this habit may not have been advertised by the media, or if parents atually took care of their kids like they used to, do you think this would really happen as much as it does. The novel "Cut" by Patricia McCormick makes you think of these questions and many more.

"Cut"...Why?

A theme song to your life, it would be like a cartoon. But if I could relate one song to the main character Callie it would be Shinedown's "45". This song talks of how a young man wants to commit suicide and what could have went wrong, and this is exactly Callie's situation. Even though Callie did want to open up and she never really did. During this song the man described in the lyrics debates on whether or not to kill himself, as the reader of "Cut" i could see Callie do this, because of her "addiction" of cutter herself, because cutting yourself..it's pathetic and it is basically saying, "Hey, I want to kill myself, feel sorry for me." Thought of killing and cutting yourself is a sad topic, because it's a self inflicted pain and you only live in this reality, this lifetime only once enjoy it, no matter what happens, no one is going to feel sorry for you except the bleeding hearts of America's "Oprah" show, so it is useless.
It took forever for Aj to tell his family and Friends about his little secret but it had to be done. He finally decided to tell him the secret and at first everyone was a little creeped out and didn't know what to do. He was best friends with brandiosa forever and he never told him about it until now. No one understood him no body cared about how he felt all they cared about was themselves

Bad boy gone good

Through out the story i thought it was getting better and better every time i read more and more but then it hit me. Aj was gay. It was a total shock and after that i just didn't want to read anymore. He was such a macho man and he was supposed to be the man but he was not in fact he was far from it. The only reason his buddy found out was because he followed him to the gay bar.

"Tuesdays with Morrie" The Seventh Tuesday

On the seventh Tuesday Morrie talks about age. Mitch asked him if he ever envy's people of younger ages and Morrie said that he does. But Morrie said that he had a time to be younger and now he has a time to be older so he is going to enjoy it now. I agree with this because so many people in the world are the opposite of this. They always complain about their age weather they might be too old or too young almost everybody has complained about their age at some point in their life... even me. But if you take time out to think about it, it really doesn't have a point to complain about it because you are only going to be that age once so you should just live in it while you can. If you waste your time complaining about the age that you are not then you are just going to end up wasting the age you are now then later in your life you are probably going to end up complaining about the years of your life that you wasted complaining about future years. Because once you live a year of your life you can't get it back no matter how much you complain. So my advice to everybody is to take life as it comes because there is a time to be fives years old, and that is when you are five and there is a time to be sixty years old, and that is when you are sixty years old. Everybody is going to die eventually and that is the only thing that is guaranteed in life, and you only live once so don't waste it.

The Pigman

Well John wants to me a actor, Lorraine wants to be a writer. John and Lorraine are best friends. They play this game that they would get a phone book and point at a name and who ever talk to there person the longest wins. John and Lorraine are not the most like in the school that why they get along.Lorraine mother is not a good person at all she calls Lorraine all kinds of names like shes ugly, John parent aren't the bast neither they smoke and the let him do it to.

"Tuesdays with Morrie" The Sixth Tuesday

Now Morrie is talking about detaching himself from emotions. Even though he always said that you should live in the present and get as much out of life as you can, he said that you should also learn to detach yourself from emotions. At first I didn't understand this but after I thought about it for a while it started to make sense. He said that by detaching yourself from emotions you can learn and feel new emotions. After you feel one emotion, lets use fear for example. after you feel fear you can say " ok... I know how this feels so now I can move on". If you think about this it makes sense because if you already feel an emotion you can take time out to try and look at the situation in a different point of view so maybe you can feel a different emotion. A better example would be the passing of loved ones. Most people cry because they think that they are gone forever and that they will never see them again. Well think about it, that's only one way of thinking about it. Another way to think about it is that they are in a much better place. That's where Morrie's theory comes into place. You forgot one emotion (sadness) and got to experience a new one (happiness for your loved one's departure). This helps a lot of people because it helps people to look at negative situations in a more positive outlook. This is how it relate to everybodys' lives not just mine.

Have you ever wondered what attracts a person or gains someones attention. There are certain things that have the tendency to keep a person interested into something. These factors are studied by television show producer as well as business men. For example there s a certain tone that someone can present to you that would gain your attention quickly. quick talkers or someone who speaks with alot of enthusiasm can quickly get somebody to listen to what they are offering rather to a boring person who a person may stop paying attention to half way through the conversation. there are certain things that appeal to a person more than others such asin advertisement. comercials usually are filled with action or humor, bright colors, and or a celeberity to sponser there products . Techniques like this are constantly used and can determine the succsess of a product. Reasons for the succes of certain tv shows like seaseme street who spent months just to perfect there first episode.. and the nike who could afford the best sponsers to show off there product.

Tuesdays with Morrie pg 100-120

As Morrie's condition is getting worse he is giving more views on his life and just life in general. He says explains that you should not hold back on emotions because if you always worry about one thing the rest of your life will pass you by. I think that this is a good outlook on life because it makes sense to me. If you worry about just one thing in your life then you are going to miss out on a lot of other important things that are going on around you. I cant really say that this relates to me because i already have that outlook on life because there really is no point on wasting your time on one thing. I think that more people in this world should start thinking like this because too many people waste their whole life worrying about stuff. If you don't worry about everything it will give you a more positive thinking matter. It is a lot better to think positively than always thinking negative because it puts you in a better mood and instead of having a bad influence on other people it will rub off on people in a good way, so by helping yourself you can also help other people...... One thing that a lot of people worry about is dying and that is not a good thing to worry about because you have to know that everybody is going to die no matter what so you should just live your life and try to get the most out of it as you can, because you only live once don't waste it.

Let's get those links up girls.

"Cut" it out

Callie has a new conflict now, she was the only one at the hospital who cut themselves, but not anymore. The new girl Manda also cuts herself and is the stereo-typical "goth" girl to do it. So maybe Callie feels she has some Compton now and feels the need to open up and talk, because she wants to be the head-case. I am looking forward to Callie to keep talking to her therapist, and learning what is really wrong with her, or if she is just faking like i assume she and all the other cutters do. However, though Callie started talking I believe she only did so, because her mother told her she will leave the hospital, because she is not making progress, it's funny the minute Callie hears she will leave the hospital, because she is not making progress, she starts making progress; a real mental patient wouldn't care if they made progress or not, therefore my opinion of Callie faking everything stands, because she appeals to what goes on around her and all attention must be on her not her dad, not her mom, not her brother, and especially not her competitor Manda.

tough call

To be honest to get through all the tough times of hard practices pay off. Like Aj and his buddy they would practice every day and have an extremely hard day at practice. then they would go home and work out for another few hours. Now that's what i call dedication. That's all you really need to achieve any of your goals you have to be strong and get through all the fighting battles. the hard times and the good times are definitely worth it when its all done and over with.

Tuesdays With Morrrie pg 40-100

As of now Morrie's condition is getting worse. He is becoming short of breath, when a health y person can count to about 70 while exhaling Morrie can only count to 13 before he runs out of breath, which is pretty bad. He is always cold and can not move without help. He constantly needs help so there has to be some one at his house at all times with him (he has a few aids that stay at his house). Mitch has been going to his house to visit and take his classes with him every Tuesday. Morrie is talking about his family now. He is talking about how his uncle had cancer and he was scared that he would get it to but instead of him getting it his brother got it instead. When he was a child his mother died and when he got a step mother he could not tell his little brother because his dad wanted David (his little brother) to think that it was his real mother. Morrie said that family is not all about love but to know that someone is always going to be there for you. Which I personally think is a good way to look at it.

"Cut" 1/3 done

The novel "Cut" by Patricia McCormick has realistic characters in which the average teen of today's world can relate to. The main character Callie is currently in a mental institution and despite popular belief there are no regular "crazies" as what is given off by movies, television etc, but there are mere kids in this hospital with what are claimed to be mental problems, such as eating disorders, drug/alcohol addictions, and self inflicted pain also known as cutting yourself. These are certain characters most teens can relate to, because this is not an unusual thing in this day and age, because everyone claims to have a problem with a so-called addiction. Yet with the way McCormick is explaining these characters, it is believable that you can have an addiction with drugs or cutting yourself, I, myself do not believe in such a thing, because I believe anything you do too yourself is, because you want it, this is not a post of my opinion however I chose this book to maybe change my view on this subject of physical or mental harm done to oneself. Callies situation is something some can or cannot relate to, a working father a stay at home mother and a very sick younger brother and very little attention is left for her, but this is no reason to reason to harm yourself and this furthers my belief hat cutting yourself is for attention and nothing more, this may be narrow minded or old-fashioned but I hope that that this book changes how I think, because not only are the characters believable but the plot is realistic as well.
There are certain people in this world that seem to connect everyone... this is the one of the concepts of my book the "Tipping Point".It discusses the way that certain people have the ability to spread an idea much faster than others and a few of these people combined can cause an epidemic. this idea is relative to what we usully would no as 6 degrees of seperation. For example like a good friend of mine seems to know everyone.. no matter were we go can be from a restaurant to a random basketball court in a random part of town , seems to always no someone.. People like this connect everyone and can have a major effect on the outcome of many things and can help dictate weather or not an idea has the ability to "take off".. for example there is this nieborhood building that has been used to open up small nieghborhood shops, many places that open there never became successful.. But than one man decided to take the risk and open up a small restaurant there..Place shouldve never became as successful as it is today.. the reason for this is because this man knew everyone and was able to self advertise his own resaurant it was only a matter of time before it became the most successful spot in the nieghborhood..This is how the concepts of my book can relate to real life

Tuesdays With Morrie pg:1-40

So far Mitch has run into his old professor because he found out that he was dying and since he promised that he would visit him he found out where he lives. After he found out that he was dying he also found out that his old professor is also teaching a class on life and death. This class is all based life experiences of his professor. Mitch decides to take these classes with Morrie (his old professor). Mitch found out how Morrie was going to die and this troubled him because he did not want to believe this about his dear professor. This class does not really have graded test but instead requires you to ask questions and bring up topics that relate to life and Morrie will answer them to the best of his ability. Mitch does not like to see Morrie like this because now Morrie can not do the things that he once loved to do... such as dance, he also cant do everyday things by himself such as bathe, walk, or even dry himself off after getting washed up. But yet Morrie doesn't complain about this, he just reassures Mitch that he has had a good life and death is not anything to be afraid of. So Micth helps him by going to the bookstore for him and things like that. I left off at where Morrie was explaining the theory of tensions of opposites... this is like a pull of rubber bands and how most people live in the middle of this. I'm guessing that this means that no matter what you do something is always going go to contradict it.

The Pigman

So far i like this book. Its about a high school kid aka the bathroom bomber thats his nickname in school, because he lets real bombs go off in the the bathroom and he never got caught doing it,he did he 23 times. He is a big time trouble maker.

Louigi

Bad boy- Round 2

Everyone has a goal to fight for in there life. Some people's goal's are smaller then others but the ones that are smaller usually have the most meaning to it. Aj And his best friend always had a dream to play junior a hockey on one of he best teams around there.the first time around they got cut the second time around can u guess what happen. For the next few months the two friends trained hard and worked out every day to get in shape for the next try out and in the end it all payed off in the end.

The Tipping Point

I think this a good book because the things it explains such as relativity and the power of context. The one thing I like about this book is how it explains the productivity of the world and how everything works together as if there were one coincidence after another. This would be an especially you were planning on entering the business field.

Intro to bad boy

i like this book because it gets right to the point. It explains who the characters are and what there after. It explains the to boys that have a dream to play for a good hockey team. so far its really intresting to me.

intro to "cut"

So far this book is not bad at all, as a reader you can feel each persons pain in what they are going through, whether it be an eating disorder, a drug/alcohol addiction, or an addiction to self inflicted pain. However, this book tends to jump around from a random story to another from one flashback to another as if the book is being told as a story that happened to someone in the past and not a diary.
